Nigeria

From its inception as an independent nation, Nigeria has remained a volatile country.

More Christians are murdered for their faith in Nigeria than in any other country.

Priests, nuns, and other Christians leaders are kidnapped and released after the payment of ransom or brutally murdered. Churches, schools, medical facilities, and presbyteries have been razed to the ground with no provocations from the communities. Christian girls are abducted, forced to convert to Islam, and sold into sex slavery.

Our Work Here

Take Heart comes alongside local leaders and churches to serve in a community for three to five years. Together, we assess spiritual, technical, and financial needs. We then develop a unique strategic development plan that will empower leaders to impact the community for many years after Take Heart is gone. Specific strategies implemented in Nigeria include spiritual encouragement, leadership trainings, income-generating projects, terror relief, trauma care, and education support.

Watch Our Ministry in Action

This video shows one of the women we journey alongside benefiting from an income-generating project. Take Heart gave local leaders a grant so they could give a loan to this woman to start her business with the resources she needed! In time, her business will become self-sustainable.
