We did it!
Thanks to supporters like you, 400 girls are sponsored for the upcoming school year and 100 women will begin income-generating projects this year in the countries we serve! Thank you for all your help!
If you think you’ve missed your chance to give this Easter season, don’t fret! We would love to see you join The Pulse, the heartbeat of our ministry via ongoing monthly giving.
Plant a Seed
Take Heart recognizes the inherent worth of girls and women and the right for them to receive an education and to be able to provide for themselves.
When you plant a seed, you empower girls and women to succeed.
There are two ways you can plant a seed this Easter: give an education to a girl in one of the countries we serve or sponsor an income-generating project for a woman to be able to achieve financial independence.
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8

The Need

In the countries Take Heart serves, girls and women are not prioritized. They are marginalized, ignored, and often victims of harassment and abuse. According to UNICEF, more than half of girls in North Nigeria are not currently attending school. A 2020 report from usaid.gov states Egypt ranked 140th out of 153 countries in women’s economic participation and opportunity.

Our Work
Last year, Take Heart opened a school for 181 children in an internally displaced persons camp in North Nigeria.
Witness the kind of impact you can make with your donation.
Take Heart provides grants to local leaders who fund micro-loans for people in need of an income who are capable of launching a small business. We call these income-generating projects.
Read one woman’s story below.

“I am 43 years old, and a mother of five children. I lost my husband during the insurgency, which made life so difficult for me and my children. Arriving in the IDP camp without any means of livelihood was hell for a widow with children.
In June 2021, Take Heart transformed my life. I benefited from a loan that I invested in buying large quantities of fruit directly from farm owners. I sell it in the local markets on the weekdays.
I have paid back my loan and am now making a profit. All thanks and praises to God Almighty!”
