One of our favorite times of year is here: Lent. For 40 days, together with you, we get to spend intentional prayer time for specific brothers and sisters in areas where we serve. This year we are focusing our prayers on children, teens, and young adults with disabilities — one of the highest persecuted groups among Christians.

KirollosThis week, meet Kirollos. He’s 16 years old and incredibly kind and brave. He suffers from inflammation of his retinas, rendering him nearly blind.

Kirollos does not let being blind get in the way of being a teenager. He’s always smiling, always trying his hardest, and always wanting to learn. He knows how to swim, loves working with his hands, and hopes to attend college in a couple of years.

But being blind in one of the poorest parts of the world proves extremely challenging. Please join hands with us this first week of Lent in praying for Kirollos. Pray he remains on fire and joyful for Christ. Pray for his protection. And pray for his future.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
